The faculty has always stood out for its commitment to innovation, quality and educational excellence, preparing professionals capable of taking on challenges in line with the circumstances of each moment. Always in continuous interaction with our society and allowing our students to have the best quality university education, which guarantees their future employment, in continuous training, and which allows them to face the challenges that arise in a changing society.

It was in 2002 when the then Faculty of Business Sciences (which had around 1,500 students and 80 teachers) launched its first Strategic Plan, which aimed to establish basic objectives for its development and competitiveness, taking into account the environment and needs of the time.

Today, the Faculty of Business and Tourism has an outstanding team of lecturers specialising in each of the disciplinary areas (with 64.44% of lecturers holding a PhD for the degree in tourism for the 2023/2024 academic year and 56.45% for the degree in business administration and management), and has the infrastructure and resources necessary to promote the objectives set out in the centre's mission and vision.

However, in a context of change, such as the one we are currently experiencing, together with the challenges we face, the need to adapt to digital transformation, maintaining the quality of our system through innovation and research, expanding the number of degrees, ensuring access for people with special educational needs, fighting the gender gap, and sustainability, make it necessary to draft this programme, which is the result of joint, participatory, and inclusive work that allows us to identify new areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation towards excellence at our centre.
In this regard, we would like to highlight that the structure of the programme is based on the guide developed by the University of Vigo and takes into account the general framework of the University of Vigo's Strategic Plan 2021-2026.
